For Shelley Welch, real estate is about more than buying or selling a house. It’s about
understanding how people want to live and helping them find a home and community
that support the life they envision.
A REALTOR® for 10 years and Seniors Real Estate Specialist® (SRES®), Shelley also
brings more than 25 years of management and service delivery experience in the
Triangle. Her early career in social services included working with individuals with
developmental disabilities and older adults, creating a lifelong focus on accessibility,
independence, recreation and connection.
With both personal and professional experience in multigenerational living, Shelley has
a particular passion for helping older adults and their families navigate downsizing,
accessibility, 55+ living, aging in place and relocating closer to children and
grandchildren.
Raised in a Navy family, Shelley also understands relocation firsthand. Having lived in
Florida, California and Virginia before making North Carolina home, she knows that a
successful move is about much more than finding the right house. That perspective also
shapes the patient, educational approach she brings to first-time buyers.
Shelley looks beyond bedrooms and square footage to understand what matters to her
clients — family, recreation, accessibility, neighborhood connections and lifestyle. Her
degree in Recreation Administration and Therapeutic Recreation from UNC-Chapel Hill
continues to influence her belief that where we live has a meaningful impact on how well
we live.
She also believes great service sometimes means recognizing when a client needs
expertise beyond real estate and connecting them with trusted professionals and
community resources.
Community
Shelley currently serves as President of the Villas of Wake Forest Condominium
Owners Association, President of the Wake Forest Power Hour BNI chapter, and
Chairperson of the Government Affairs Committee for the Wake Forest Area Chamber
of Commerce. She is also a member of SING-WF (Senior Information Networking
Group – Wake Forest), strengthening her connections to resources serving older adults
and their families.
A Little More About Shelley
A proud UNC-Chapel Hill graduate, Shelley enjoys family time, travel, gardening, sports,
recreation and being outdoors. A longtime soccer player, coach and referee, she still
believes an active, connected community can be every bit as important as the home
itself. And after years of helping others think intentionally about where and how they
want to live, Shelley has a dream for her own future — plenty of family, recreation and,
someday, a little more sand and salt air. Whether you're relocating, buying your first
home, bringing generations together, downsizing or looking for a home that better fits
the way you want to live, Shelley will take the time to understand where you want to go
and help you navigate the way there. #SeeShelley — Let me guide you home.
